destments found at 112 Dos Teeur Road Central.

As the result of information that the premises were being used for opium dealing a search of the above premises was made by Revenue Officers. No opium was found but a large number of documents were found which appeared to relate to opium dealing and as a result two Chinese who appeared to be in charge were arrested, and are under remand, A secret compartment was found in the wooden skirting, and

a secret drawer in one of the safes.

2. The whole floor vee occupied by a firm calling themselves the Yuk Shing Chong, being apparently the Hong

Kong branch of a firm at Kwong Chow Van calling itself the

Tin Shing Chong, whose articles of partnership were among the papere seized. The master was no other than Tai Pau Cheng who was mentioned in papers examined and reported on

last year as an important dealer in opium at Kwong Chow Wan. He however was not present at the time and I have been unable

to find him, It will be noticed that he is one of the

largest shareholders in the Tin Shing Chong of Kwong Chow

Wan.

3. I attach a translation of a partnership book found, a precis of a correspondence with Kwong Chow Wan with relation to opium, and a statement collected from the "Goode Received Book" showing the amount of opius dealt with during a period of 10 months.

4. An examination of the books of the firm shows that the firm dealt in no other goods than opium, and that they were the Hongkong branch of the Kwong Chow Wan firm as per article I. of the partnership book. It is however apparent that Chẳng did not keep very strictly to Article 4 but dealt in other goods than those of the firm'■ make, the firm on their part did not adhere closely to the same article, but
